“Due to heavy traffic on our website, visitors to cboe.com may find that it is performing slower than usual and may at times be temporarily unavailable. All trading systems are operating normally,” the company stated on twitter.
The price of bitcoin has risen since the launch and is currently at 16,829 at press time.
Next week, CME Group will be launching their first bitcoin futures contracts beginning on Dec. 18.
