The United Kingdom-based car manufacturer intends to build a marketplace for NFTs, which will allow special access to its owners, according to the company.

The partnership with metaverse infrastructure provider InfiniteWorld will help McLaren create and monetize these digital assets to increase engagement with its users.

In December, InfiniteWorld was acquired by Aries I Acquisition in a $700 million merger. The entity will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker “JPG.”

McLaren Automotive is part of the same organization as Formula 1 racing team McLaren Racing, which has already been involved in the digital assets industry.

In June, McLaren Racing announced plans to build an NFT platform on Tezos.
