Leading American cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase, is set to launch a comprehensive advertising initiative across the United States, underscoring the pivotal significance of cryptocurrencies in the modernization of the global financial system.

In a blog post published on May 22, Coinbase outlined its strategy for the upcoming “Moving America Forward” campaign, which will feature a series of four distinct commercials starring the exchange’s CEO, Brian Armstrong. These commercials will predominantly air during popular Sunday shows on American television, with select slots during ad breaks of the NBA Finals series.

The firm emphasized that the national campaign, named “Crypto: Moving America Forward,” aims to elucidate the fundamental role of cryptocurrencies as an underlying technology poised to revolutionize the global financial infrastructure. Furthermore, Coinbase seeks to shed light on the international adoption of crypto and blockchain, particularly in nations like China. It emphasizes that the United States’ global economic leadership and national security face jeopardy if the country relinquishes its pioneering position in developing the technology that will form the backbone of the world’s financial system.

The commercials are titled “The History of Money Initiative,” “Stand With Crypto Day,” “Real People Using Crypto for Real Needs,” and “The State of Crypto Summit,” with each advertisement debuting over four consecutive weeks.

“The History of Money Initiative” campaign delves into the historical progression of currency, tracing its origins from goats in 10,000 BC to the modern era of cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Coinbase plans a wallscape campaign on Wall Street, visually documenting the progress of the initiative, and a captivating “armored money truck turned mobile-billboard” to further capture public attention.

“Stand With Crypto Day” aims to raise awareness for an upcoming lobbying event organized by Coinbase. The event, scheduled for July 19 in Washington D.C., will witness active participation from members of the crypto community who will advocate for crypto-friendly policies with their respective members of Congress.

The remaining two commercials, “Real People Using Crypto for Real Needs” and “The State of Crypto Summit,” will highlight the ways in which individuals are employing cryptocurrencies to pursue economic freedom. The latter ad will also promote an upcoming Coinbase event to be held in New York City on June 22.

This latest advertising campaign builds upon Coinbase’s previous endeavors this year to promote the modernization of financial technology through cryptocurrencies. In March, the company released a YouTube ad titled “It’s Time to Update the Financial System,” and it aired a commercial during the NFL Super Bowl in February 2022, which included a scannable QR code redirecting users to a page for a promotional Bitcoin giveaway.

Coinbase has concurrently intensified its lobbying efforts within the industry.

On May 12, the company unveiled its Global Advisory Council, comprising esteemed former U.S. lawmakers and industry leaders. The council aims to navigate the increasingly intricate and dynamic global landscape of cryptocurrencies.

Furthermore, in February, Coinbase initiated the “Crypto435” grassroots political campaign, tailored to the United States, with the goal of amplifying the voices of crypto users across all 435 congressional districts.

At the time of writing, Coinbase Global Inc shares demonstrated a notable surge of 7.56% over the past 24 hours, trading at $61.07, according to Google Finance.
