In April 2018, the average price for BTC was $8845.
The recent surge in volume may serve as a sign that investors are still interested in the largest cryptocurrency, despite the recent downtrend.
For years, BTC’s trading volume closely aligned with it’s price, but the connection between the two has diminished since the November sell off, in which trading volume stayed constant but the price fell significantly from 6,385 on Nov. 10, to $3,745 on Nov. 27.
Today’s $11 billion in trading volume is 200 percent of that seen on Nov. 10.
The largest trading day was $23.84 billion on Jan. 05, 2018, when BTC’s price was $17,429.50.
