The government of Brazil is looking to blockchain technology to aid in the country’s political elections encrypting vote onto the ethereum blockchain as transactions making the actions unalterable.

Utilizing the Ethereum network, Brazil will be able to process over 145 million votes across the country.
Political experts in the past have commented on Brazil’s current electoral system as the foundational problem for the nation’s political issues.
“When people are living paycheck to paycheck, or as the common saying in Brazil goes, ‘selling their lunch to buy their dinner,’ the cost of political participation becomes high enough so that people are excluded from the political process,” said Gabriel Barbosa, a research associate at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs.
The government of Brazil is looking at the possibility of utilizing a mobile application for citizens to submit votes onto the blockchain.
