Leading Chinese Exchange BTCChina Closes After 7 Years

China's first and amongst the largest bitcoin exchanges no longer accepted new account registrations and would stop trading on its platform by September 30.


HONG KONG, CHINA – After seven years, China’s first Bitcoin exchange is shutting down after the country begins to clamp down on cryptocurrencies in the country. 

Two exchanges, BTCChina (BTCC) and ViaBTC, have already closed due to the regulatory statement given by the office of the Leading Group of Beijing Internet Financial Risks Remediation.
