Google searches for ‘bitcoin’ rose to new monthly highs on June 24 as both Facebook announces their cryptocurrency and the price continues to increase.

According to Google Trends’ search analytics, the top five nations searching for ‘bitcoin’ include Nigeria, South Africa, Austria, Switzerland, and Ghana.
While Google searches for ‘bitcoin’ increase to monthly highs, they still remain only remain about ten percent of 2017’s number, when the price of bitcoin hit $20,000 in December.
This suggests retail investments have not been a major driver of reintroduced momentum, but instead several indicators have shown institutional requests for bitcoin products is increasing.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $10,972.54, an increase of +17.66% this week.
