Deng Yangdong, chief AI scientist of the blockchain startup company Matrix, explained at an event in Singapore how the combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the computational power behind Blockchain technology will open the door to many scientific innovations.

“Artificial intelligence is now the hottest high-tech term, but also can confirm, the most important future direction of scientific and technological development,” Yangdong stated.
The total computing power globally is 1.2×10²³ floating point operations per second (FLOPS) of which mining bitcoin makes over 17 percent at 8.23×10²² FLOPS.
According to Yangdong, a whole human metabolic system replication needs 1025 FLOPS, while a brain network replication needs roughly 1018 FLOPS.
Design to be a new generation of blockchain technology, MATRIX leverages the latest AI techniques to refactor the blockchain architecture.
