Twitter has become a hotbed for celebrities endorsing ICOs, as well as scammers who will imitate popular cryptocurrency related accounts to swindle investors.
Twitter will be rolling out the new policies in the next two weeks.
Facebook posted a statement in January stating they would block “ads that promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency.”
Google announced just last week the tech giant will add cryptocurrency in its restricted list beginning in June, which will end advertising for ICOs, as well as cryptocurrency exchanges.
