Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum took to Twitter to rant about the attitude of the cryptocurrency community.

“*All* crypto communities, ethereum included, should heed these words of warning,” he wrote. “Need to differentiate between getting hundreds of billions of dollars of digital paper wealth sloshing around and actually achieving something meaningful for society,” Buterin stated.
He continued with another tweet saying, “If all that we accomplish is lambo memes and immature puns about ‘sharting,’ then I WILL leave.”
The Russian-Canadian programmer co-founded Bitcoin Magazine before publishing a whitepaper defining Ethereum, now the third largest cryptocurrency behind Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin.
In November, Buterin stated that some ICO models resemble “voodoo economics” during a developer conference.
This isn’t the first time he’s been publicly critical of certain elements of the cryptocurrency space. In November, he said at a developer conference that some ICO models are like “voodoo economics.”
